What’s good for women is good for the world.
WOMAN is a collection of media housed on a digital platform to provide viewers with a safe space to convene around critical issues facing humanity. Our platform will house a collection of short films that feature extraordinary women taking on extraordinary challenges.
We supplement our documentary work with educational materials that enable us to explore and relate to the role of women from yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
As we produce the WOMAN collection, and develop this virtual space, our team continues to investigate the underlying issues confronting humanity to deepen our understanding of the challenges that bind us all. Through these stories, we aim to shift the prevailing gender paradigm and re-write the inaccurate notions of a woman’s role. This action is a vital avenue toward a more empowering and integrated future.
WOMAN was inspired by the formidable work of systems scientist and author Dr. Riane Eisler.
Dr. Eisler is a Holocaust survivor who fled her native Austria to Cuba, before arriving in the United States as a refugee child. Her early hardships helped shape a robust career devoted to promoting cultural transformation into a more peaceful and equitable world.
Dr. Eisler is president of the Center for Partnership Studies, and author of groundbreaking books such as The Chalice and The Blade – Our History, Our Future, now in 26 languages, and The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics. As an attorney, she has pioneered work in human rights for the majority: women and children. She has received a variety of honors, including honorary PhDs and peace awards. She lectures worldwide, in venues that include the United Nations General Assembly, the U.S. Department of State, Congress, Heads of State, universities, corporations, and conference keynotes.
We begin full production on WOMAN in January 2016. As we build upon our work we invite you to do the same. Here are five questions with Dr. Riane Eisler on the status of women worldwide. We look forward to growing our expert network and sharing these interviews with you.
